But so would watching major surgery or even circumcision. Unfortunately for Nigel and other advocating a similar approach, psychological research into smoking cessation, has shown that shocking images serve no purpose other than to desensitize the viewer to the image and ignore the message.<BR/>Change does not happen as a result of "shock and awe"(ful images), but rather from patience, tolerance and moderation.
